What Should Replace Philadelphia Cheesesteak Factory?

Each week we'll present a new vacant building and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? We've written about several shuttered spaces over the past several weeks including , , , and , and . Our readers have suggested replacements ranging from florists to coffee shops.

This week, we're turning our attention to the Philadelphia Cheesesteak Factory, which was formerly located on the corner of 34th Street and M Street near the Key Bridge. Outposts of this local chain are still open in and Alexandria, but the Georgetown location has been closed for more than a year.

In May of 2011, the Advisory Neighborhood Commission at 3347 M St., NW. But “Fuhggetaboutit” Pizza has yet to come to fruition.
