Zipcar Expands to Two Georgetown Colonial Parking Locations

Zipcar users have two new options in Georgetown housed at Colonial Park locations near the Georgetown Waterfront and on M Street.

The partnership brings the total number of Zipcar locations in Georgetown to 9.

The new locations are 3053 M St. NW (in the Old Stone House lot) and 1050 Thomas Jefferson St. NW (just north of K Street).

Zipcar, a leading car sharing network, provides an alternative to car ownership, especially in urban areas where parking is limited and other transportation options abound.

According to a press release, "Zipcar chose to work with Colonial Parking due to their market-leading presence of over 220 parking facilities in the Washington, DC area and their deep roots in the DC community."

DC was one of the very first Zipcar markets, along with Boston, New York City and San Francisco. Founded in 2000, the company now has a fleet of more than 10,000 serving 20 major metropolitan areas and on more than 300 college campuses in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain and Austria, according to a company fact sheet.
