SUMMIT APPOINTS SBA CFO AS THE FIRM’S FINANCIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR

February 4, 2014 (Washington, D.C.) – Summit, a Washington, D.C.-based provider of sophisticated data analysis and related services to Federal Government agencies as well as private sector clients, announces today that it has named Jonathan Carver the firm’s Director of Financial Services.

Before joining Summit, he served as the Small Business Administration (SBA) Chief Financial Officer and Associate Administrator for Performance Management.

At the SBA, Mr. Carver implemented the agency’s budget, financial reporting systems, and performance measures to establish greater financial transparency. He also served as the SBA’s Performance Improvement Officer and Chief Acquisition Officer, leading an office of more than 140 finance professionals.

Mr. Carver successfully led the SBA in achieving the Association of Government Accountants’ Certificate of Excellence in Accountability Reporting (CEAR) for the last four fiscal years.

Mr. Carver’s Federal financial management experience and strategic planning expertise make him highly qualified to lead Summit’s Financial Services directorate through its planned expansion.

Mr. Carver brings more than 18 years of experience in the public sector to his new position with the Financial Services team, which guides Federal and state agencies, as well as philanthropies and mission-oriented financial intermediaries, in managing lending and capital deployment programs.

He holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from The George Washington University. Additionally, Mr. Carver has served as a member of the U.S. Chief Financial Officers Council, the U.S. Chief Acquisition Officers Council, and the Performance Improvement Council.

“We are excited and honored that Jon has chosen Summit as a place to continue his service in Federal financial policy and grow our Financial Services group,” says company Principal Anthony Curcio. “He has a tremendous amount of Federal financial management experience, and had many other opportunities at his disposal. I look forward to serving alongside Jon to meet our clients’ needs.”
