WEST, LANE & SCHLAGER REALTY NAMES BRIAN DICKERSON A SENIOR ASSOCIATE AT THE GROWING COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE FIRM

April 10, 2014 (Washington, D.C.) – West, Lane & Schlager Realty Advisors, LLC (“WLS”), a Washington, D.C.-based commercial real estate brokerage firm that exclusively represents tenants, announced today that it has appointed Brian Dickerson a Senior Associate, as the company continues to expand its advisory group.

Dickerson specializes in the representation of commercial office tenants throughout the D.C. Metropolitan Area. His primary specialty is working with clients in the defense and government contracting sector, primarily in Northern Virginia. In his new role at WLS, Dickerson will focus on expanding the firm’s client base in Northern Virginia.

“I know the government contracting community well. More importantly, I know how these types of businesses operate and how to translate that knowledge into effective real estate advice,” he says, noting that his industry experience spans the spectrum of commercial real estate services, such as financial modeling, lease negotiations, portfolio and strategic planning, and sublease dispositions.

Prior to joining WLS, Dickerson served as a Senior Associate for four years in the D.C. office of DTZ, formerly known as UGL Equis. While at DTZ, he represented local and national clients such as Allied Communications, ATK, Dynamis, McMullan & Associates, Navigant Consulting, Rolls-Royce and Towers Watson.

Before entering the commercial real estate industry, Dickerson gained valuable experience working as a recruiter and sales agent at a corporate staffing firm. There, he was able to expand his knowledge and expertise in marketing and sales.

“I’m really excited about my new opportunity at West, Lane & Schlager,” Dickerson explains. “Starting my career at a global real estate firm exposed me to many facets of the industry and allowed me to build a strong foundation. But my decision to join WLS was established on the strength of its leadership, its success in training mid-level agents, as well as its level of detail and service to its clients, which is astounding to me.”

Dickerson first got introduced to WLS by Andrew Genova, a Senior Associate at the firm, who was a former colleague at UGL Equis. Dickerson says that he’s looking forward to working alongside Genova, and the entire brokerage staff at WLS.

“Everyone here is one team, chasing business together, and working deals together,” he describes. “It’s a true team environment, which makes for a strong quality of life, both from professional and personal standpoints.”

Dickerson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Maryland at College Park. An active participant in civic endeavors, he volunteers for Shawne Merriman’s Lights on Foundation and is a member of the leadership committee for Manna, Inc., a nonprofit focused on providing affordable housing to low-income families throughout Washington, D.C.

According to WLS Principal Eric West, LEED AP, “We’ve been interested in expanding our presence in Northern Virginia for a few years. Since our agents work as one team, finding the right personality is as important as finding the right market experience. Brian meets both of those standards, and we’re excited to add him to the team.”
