Wizards + Mystics Camp Testimonial

The Washington Wizards + Mystics offer various camp programs throughout DC, MD, and VA. The following entry is a testimonial from a camper's parent regarding their experience at a recent program.

My daughter, Christine, has always been active and has always loved sports. She tried many sports as she got older (karate, soccer, softball, tennis), but she seemed to like basketball the most. So when it came time for us to find her a camp last summer, it was no surprise that she wanted to go to basketball camp.

When I started looking, I was amazed at how many different basketball camps there were in the area. We looked at several of them, but ultimately decided to sign Christine up for the Washington Wizards/Mystics Camp. She likes watching the NBA and WNBA and she’s a John Wall fan because she, too, wants to be a point guard. The idea of going to a Wizards/Mystics basketball camp was really exciting for her.

For us though, the main reasons we decided on the Wizards/Mystics camp were scheduling and price. Other camps we looked at ended earlier in the afternoon, which would’ve made things difficult with our work schedules. The Wizards/Mystics camp offered a full day of camp and the proximity to our home made it an easy choice. There are other camps, but not many that offered that type of flexibility. It was just the right fit for us. The best part is that the Wizards/Mystics camps are offered year-round throughout the metropolitan area so parents in Maryland and Virginia as well as the District can take advantage of the wonderful environment provided to the campers.

However, the best thing about the camp was that Christine had a great week. We knew after the first day we had made the right decision because she couldn’t stop talking about it. Every day when we picked her up, she would tell us about a different skill she had worked on or about the special speaker they had talk to them that day. She thought it was the coolest thing in the world that a professional basketball player came to talk to them.

I would definitely recommend the Wizards/Mystics camp to any parents looking for a basketball camp in the area. The only issue that we had was that Christine didn’t want to wear anything but the jersey they gave her for the rest of the summer.
