After the Earthquake: What's Open, What's Not

D.C Public Schools are closed, but as a consolation prize, the pools are open.

As the D.C. region evaluates the damage of Tuesday's earthquake, several key resources have decided to close their doors or keep them open wide. Here's our run down, feel free to share more in the comments section:

CLOSED

  • Washington Monument
  • Smithsonian Castle

OPEN

  • Metro
  • Federal Government, with unscheduled leave and unscheduled telework. A few government buildings will be closed, look for your office here.
  • D.C. Government
  • Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo
  • The U.S. Capitol Visitor Center is open normal business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation facilities, including pools. and pools are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • D.C. Public Libraries; hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • , except Yates Field House and the Reiss building.
