Capital Bikeshare Plans for Increased Demand on July 4
CaBi will construct a makeshift docking station on the National Mall to accommodate extra cyclists.
It's going to be too hot to walk comfortably. The metro stations will be packed. Forget about driving.
That's why Capital Bikeshare is anticipating a bunch of cyclists will hop on one of their bright red bikes and ride to the National Mall this afternoon to catch the big fireworks show. ()
In order to avoid users getting "dockblocked" (their word, not ours), CaBi is constructing a temporary bike corral at 10th Street and Constitution Avenue to accommodate increased usage. The docking station will be open from noon until approximately 10:30 p.m. - or about an hour after the fireworks show ends.
