D.C. Artist Gifts a Portrait to a Stranger from Georgetown
Portrait artist Nicole Bourgea wanted to use her art to help people notice one another. She painted 10 portraits of perfect strangers she met while walking in D.C. Georgetowner Joy Blair was one of the lucky strangers and her free oil painting was left for her on Wisconsin Avenue this week with a note, "If this is you, this painting is yours to take."
At-Large Race Heats Up with Georgetown Candidate Forum
Four candidates for the two at-large seats on the D.C. Council met in Georgetown Thursday. Incumbents Michael A. Brown (Independent) and Vincent Orange (Democrat) and challengers Mary Brooks Beatty (Republican) and David Grosso (Independent) squared off on issues ranging from local schools to business incentives to parking.
