Editor's Notebook: Drybar, Cigar Lounge and 'Nightlife Shuttle'

A look at a few of the most notable stories this week on Georgetown Patch.

Drybar Opens

A unique hair salon that does not offer cuts or colors opened Friday in Georgetown and Bethesda, and the Bethesda location opened with a bright yellow piece of art—a giant blowdryer. Drybar offers a blowout service, including a wash, for $40.

New Party Bus

Partiers will soon have another transportation option to Georgetown with the “DC Hopper.” The shuttle will run between Georgetown, Dupont Circle and Bethesda.

Civil Lounge to Open

At least one reader is excited about this: Fans of celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio, who will open Civil Lounge later this fall or this winter at the Chevy Chase Pavilion, which is currently undergoing massive renovations. Civil Lounge will start with wine, beer and cigars and will include small plates from neighboring Voltaggio restaurant Range next year.

In other business news: Mie N Yu closed unexpectedly this week, and Nike will open a Georgetown location later this month.
