Georgetown's ANC is still debating how to approach the program; of particular concern is the likelihood of people abusing the system and taking up precious parking. Though, some residents expressed an interest in the permits, rather than having to trek up to the Second District police station on Idaho Avenue for a temporary pass.

Mayor Vincent Gray, Ward 2 Councilman Jack Evans, Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners, friends and neighbors of Tim Downs gathered in front of his P Street home Thursday to thank him for his contributions to the community.

Downs, who is battling cancer, has been an active member of the Georgetown community and played a key role in seeing the O and P Street Project finally happen, after more than 20 years of advocacy.
