Georgetown Waterfront Floods Again, Flood Walls in Place

An unusually high tide led to flooding at the Georgetown waterfront Thursday. Flooding conditions are expected throughout the day Friday.

Update 8:45 p.m. Thursday

The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended the coastal flood warning until Saturday at 2 a.m.  The water levels at the Wisconsin Avenue gauge are expected to reach eight to nine feet Thursday night and Friday. The next high tides are 10:38 p.m. Thusday and 10:48 a.m. Friday. The peak level for the April 18th flood of the Washington Harbour was 8.97 feet. 

Residents and businesses should expect continued flooding conditions throughout the day Friday, especially around high tide.
