The Georgetown Business Improvement District compiled a list of hotels, restaurants and retailers offering specials in honor of Hurricane Irene.

As Georgetowners stock up on water, layer up the and hunker down for , Georgetown businesses are offering last minute promotions to draw people out of their homes for just a bit longer.

The Georgetown Business Improvement District compiled a great list of promotions from hotel discounts to drink specials:

 (3000 M Street NW) is offering a discounted Hurricane Rate of $79 to all local Georgetown business owners and their staff on Saturday, Aug. 27. To reserve a room

 (1000 29th Street NW & 1111 30th Street NW) is also providing a special hurricane rate of $115 for studios and $145 for one bedrooms. Additionally, they will be relaxing their cancellation policies for arrivals through Sunday. If you need to cancel, please cancel the reservation via the same channel where it was booked. Hotel Washington DC (2800 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) is offering a special rate of $350 to all of DC, VA, and MD residents. To book, call 202.944.2055.

(3056 M St, NW ) will be serving up a special cocktail, "Come on Irene" for $6 Saturday.

(3125 M Street NW) is hosting a special "Hurricane Happy Hour" on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with $8 hurricanes and the following specials at the bar only:

  • Sangria - Glass $7, 1/2 Pitcher $13, 1L $24
  • Red or White House Wine $8
  • Sapporo Draft Beer $6
  • Selection of appetizers and sandwiches for 1/2 price

(3401 M St, NW) is offering a free pair of Feetures Socks with every purchase of Saucony Hurricanes.

(3279 M St, NW) is having a "Hurricane Madness Sale" Saturday. The whole store is 50 percent during their special "Hurricane Hours" on Saturday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
