No-mageddon! A Nod to a Near Miss

The huge snows this week mostly missed the D.C. area, but why gloat?

While those in the Northeast and other areas of the mid-Atlantic suffered through up to 32 inches of snow as 2010 came to a close, the greater Washington area took brief comfort in having missed the latest record snowfall—by all of about 50 miles.

The severe weather was a serious matter for travelers, commuters and many others, but it created  light-hearted moments and some great photo ops, too.

Many of them were captured by our northern Patch neighbors, so we thought we'd share.

Jessie King in Waterford Patch in Southeast Connecticut got called out for not wearing gloves by a cute tot named Jackson, then hitched a ride on a special toboggan.
