German Chancellor Angela Merkel dined at with President Barack Obama Monday evening. A security detail blocked 36th Street around the Georgetown restaurant as the two heads of state enjoy a meal. The official state dinner is today, Tueday.
What might the two have discussed over dinner?
At the White House press briefing Monday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters that during Merkel's visit the two:
"...will discuss the range of foreign policy issues that are out there that are of common interest to both countries. I think, again, the relationship is important, the cooperation is excellent, and I’m sure they will talk about those issues as well as many others."
An email sent to 1789 inquiring about the menu for the evening was not immediately returned. Patch will update this article should information become available.
