Places to See

The Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) has organized a walking tour with Washington Walks through some of Georgetown's most historic sites, including several of JFK's old residences. The free tour is at 10 a.m. Saturday. Reservations are required; make resevations at www.washingtonwalks.com.

Check out the Peabody Room at the library. It’s closed on Monday, but it offers a lot of history about D.C.’s oldest neighborhood and gives visitors a nice view of the area.

Things to Do

Climb the Exorcist stairs and walk around the campus of Georgetown University. (The steep, narrow staircase was featured in the movie “The Exorcist.” The rest of campus has some really beautiful areas.)

Go ice skating at the new skating rink at the waterfront. This got a few votes on our Facebook page. The Washington Harbour Ice Rink is open and you can warm up with hot chocolate after you skate.

Go shopping! Of course, Georgetown is known nationally for its shopping, cupcakes and shops along M Street NW.
