This Week's Weather: End of the Week Heats Up

For anyone considering playing hooky from the office this week, Tuesday or Wednesday might be your day.

According to the National Weather Service, each of those days should be clear and sunny, with a high of around 79 to 85 degrees — perfect for hanging out at the pool, golfing or driving with the top down.

The week starts off with a high of 85 degrees Monday but with about a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms during the day, increasing to a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms in the evening.

Tuesday, forecasters predict sunny and clear weather, with highs reaching 79 degrees and low humidity. It will be a little breezier than normal, up to about 15 mph. Wednesday's weather should be similar to Tuesday's but a little warmer, with a high of 85.

On Thursday, the area will see temperatures climb to 92 degrees according to The Weather Channel.

Friday and Saturday will see a chance of thunderstorms with highs reaching in the high 90s.

Tropical Storm Debby

As of Sunday night, Tropical Storm Debby had made a significant shift in its track. The storm was centered over Florida and southeast Georgia with heavy rains and high winds. Parts of Alabama were bracing for the storm to hit early Monday morning. It is unlikely the storm will make it all the way up to the D.C. metro area.

This is the earliest in the summer season the United States has experienced its fourth-named storm of the season. The previous earliest-fourth-named storm was Dennis, which hit July 5, 2005. For more on Debby's impact in Florida, see these .
