Traffic Patterns and Restrictions in Place for Veterans Day

Area roads will follow Sunday patterns and the Department of Public Works will not be issuing parking tickets

The following is an unedited press release from the District Department of Transportation:

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is reminding travelers that Friday, Nov. 11, 2001 is a national holiday and as a result there will be no rush hour restrictions or reversible lane changes during the morning and afternoon commutes. Sunday traffic patterns will be in place and drivers who use roadways with reversible lanes should use caution and anticipate 2-way traffic. That includes Rock Creek Parkway which is maintained and operated by the National Park Service.

Also, in observance of Veteran’s Day, the District Department of Public Works (DPW) announced parking meters and residential parking restrictions will not be in effect. DPW also will not tow abandoned vehicles. Parking enforcement will resume Saturday, Nov. 12. For more information, visit dpw.dc.gov.
