Winter Weather Advisory Friday Night, Saturday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Jan. 20-21.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, and continuing through 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21.

The forecast calls for sleet and snow for several hours beginning around 11 p.m. with as much as an inch of snow accumulation across the area. Then from early through mid-morning Saturday expect freezing rain.

NWS says the freezing line is South and East of D.C. until 8 or 9 a.m. Saturday with rain in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper thirties in the afternoon in the Northwestern suburbs. Rain should end in the late afternoon.
