The Washington Master Chorale presents a program featuring a Hungarian masterpiece – Zoltán Kodály’s Missa Brevis in its original scoring for organ and chorus. The concert will also feature a cappella motets from the Russian Orthodox tradition, including works by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Gretchaninoff, and others. Please join us for a pre-concert lecture at 3 pm on the dramatic story behind Kodály’s Missa Brevis.
Accolades for the Washington Master Chorale from a previous concert: "The [voices] sing with an intelligent grasp of the varying emotions of each work, and solid accord between singers and director."
