Community Day is an annual event at the Perry School Community Services Center in collaboration with government agencies, community groups, and local churches to celebrate local community and build neighborhood relations. The day will feature educational workshops, health seminars, and access to support services to help families, youth and adults. Additionally, there will be children’s activities, backpack giveaways, competitions, food and other fun events.
The following are highlights of the event:
• Face Painting, Sports and Talent Competitions
• Exhibitors, Vendors & Food Court
• Art, Music, Cultural and Youth Activities
• Free School Supplies and Book Bag Giveaway in partnership with Staples
• Opportunity to Interact with Local Elected Officials: Council Member Tommy Wells, Council Member Anita Bonds, Council Member Kenyon McDuffie, ANC Commissioners of Wards 5 and 6, and other local celebrities.
• Interactive Workshops Including: Dental Care; Eye Examinations; Drug Prevention; Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Screening; Mammograms and Cervical Cancer Screenings.
