Doggy Needs Chemo, A Couple Trying To Adopt and DC Reading Program: How You Can Help

Also GoFundMe success stories: Marshmallow the dog gets adopted and GWU gets new ambulance technology. Find out how you can help neighbors in need.

There is no shortage of neighbors in need, regardless of your zip code. Here is just a small list of local campaigns posted at GoFundMe. The campaigns may be for people next door or for "neighbors" on the other side of the world.

Unlike other crowdfunding websites like Kickstarter, GoFundMe focuses more on helping people fund very personal goals. So in addition to traditional charitable causes, you may find someone who is asking for help financing a car payment or paying for a honeymoon.

GoFundMe is a Patch partner. If you would like to contact a fundraiser or flag a campaign, just click on the images above.
