Easter Sunrise Services at Lincoln Memorial, National Cemetery

Easter Sunday is April 20, 2014.

Capital Church returns to the grounds of the Lincoln Memorial for an Easter Sunrise Service. The annual event has included thousands of attendees in past years. 

The website for the Capital Church notes more than 6,000 are expected to attend the event at the Lincoln Memorial. 

The service begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Memorial. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably, and organizers suggest a coat or blanket. See more information.

Arlington National Cemetery will be home to the annual Easter Sunrise Service hosted by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington Chaplain in the Memorial Amphitheater.

The non-denominational worship service begins with a prelude by the United States Army Band, “Pershing’s Own” at 6:15 a.m. The service is scheduled to begin with a call to worship at 6:30 a.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For those with limited mobility, a free shuttle service will provide transportation to the Memorial Amphitheater beginning at 5:15 a.m. from the Arlington National Cemetery Welcome Center and the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Old Post Chapel Gate.
