Tea With Mrs. B Observes Disney's National Princess Week

Princes and princesses, real and imagined, have captured the imaginations of kids for as long as time. During National Princess Week, Mrs. B takes time to recognize the inner sparkle of each child.

Princes and princesses, real and imagined, have captured the hearts and imaginations of children for as long as time, and the allure of being a princess gives us all hope that we are capable of great things. This year, with the 10th anniversary of Disney’s The Princess Diaries, starring Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway, and the latest installment of Andrews’ New York Times best-selling children’s book series comes the celebration of the first annual National Princess Week, beginning April 22, 2012. To bring the joy of Disney’s Princess Week to families in the Washington, D.C. area, Rebecca Czarniecki (better known as Mrs. B), of  Tea with Mrs. B, is hosting events fit for royalty on April 27 and 28, 2012.

Tea with Mrs. B is a beloved children’s tea room serving the greater D.C. metro area. In an effort to teach and guide children and young adults in the finer things of life, Mrs. B operates a children’s tea room with themed events and innovative manners courses.

“Julie Andrews has been a genuine fixture in the world of princesses, and she’s a perfect inspiration to bring out the goodness in everyone,” said Czarniecki. “During Princess Week, we look forward to working with the children in the moment, and teaching them gentlemanly behavior and lady-like graces—all while enjoying the thrill of dress-up, cinema and tea time.”

Taking place at the historic Beall House in Bethesda, Maryland, Mrs. B’s Princess Week festivities will begin with a princess-themed “dinner and a movie” event on Friday, April 27, 2012, from 6 – 9p.m. Princesses attending will come dressed in princess attire or may slip into one of Mrs. B’s bedazzled gowns and wear her beautiful princess jewels. Young princes will also have the opportunity to don regal attire and wear fun, prince-like accessories. Young girls will learn lady-like graces, while young boys learn how to compliment and greet young ladies. And, on a big screen, Disney’s The Princess Diaries movie will be played. Pink popcorn and pizza will be served, and the cost for the event is $18 per person.

On April 28, 2012, also at the Beall House, Mrs. B is hosting her first Princess Week Open House for all ages from 11a.m. to 1p.m. Parents are welcome to attend along with their princess or prince to enjoy an afternoon of high tea, including fingers sandwiches, sweets and tea, crafting crowns with beautiful flowers, learning kind manners, and listening to a special reading of a favorite princess tale. The cost for the event is $40 per person.
