Busted: Report Says Thief Responsible for Wave of Bike Thefts Nabbed

Safety cameras played a role.

Good news — hopefully — for bike owners in Georgetown.

The Georgetown Metropolis reports that the wave of bike thefts in the area may have dried up. 

The Metropolitan Police Department told the Metropolis that they believe the thief is now behind bars. 

According to CAG Public Safety program, safety cameras caught a picture of a man pushing two bikes. The picture was circulated, and a parole officer recognized the man in the photo.

He had been arrested one day earlier in Fairfax County, the Metropolis reported. When Fairfax decides to release him, he'll be transferred to MPD.
