Update: Early Morning Fire on Dent Place

A townhouse at 3333 Dent Place reported a fire just before 5 a.m.

The small fire on Dent place Friday morning was started by discarded oily rags that combusted, according to D.C. Fire and EMS Spokesman, Pete Piringer.

According to Piringer the damage to the home is estimated at $50,000.

Residents at 3333 Dent Pl. reported smoke in the attic just before 5 a.m. Friday. D.C. Fire and EMS knocked down a small fire on the first floor of the home.

Approximately 30 D.C. Fire and EMS personnel were on the scene at one point, including the crew from the .

There were no injuries reported according to D.C. Fire and EMS Spokesman, Pete Piringer.

Fire investigators are still on the scene determining the cause of the blaze and the estimated damage.
