Georgetown Doctoral Student, Evan Armstrong North, Died on Campus Monday

Evan Armstrong North, a 28 year-old Georgetown University doctoral student, died Monday.

Georgetown University Vice President of Student Affairs, Tod Olson, informed the campus Tuesday in an email that Evan Armstrong North, a 28 year-old doctoral student, died Monday. Student newspaper, the Georgetown Voice first reported the incident.

According to Olson's email, North collapsed after exercising at Yates Field House. Yates staff responded initially and Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service transported North to where he was pronounced dead.

North was pursuing his PhD in history at Georgetown after having received his graduate degree at the University as well. The email said North had "roots in Maryland and Northern California."
