Georgetown Stabbing Suspect Dies of Heart Attack

Update: Details on hospitalization, continued investigation

A man arrested on suspicion of stabbing his father to death and wounding his mother died in the hospital after having a heart attack on Monday, police told The Washington Post

Bradford Nelson Elliot, 56, had not been formally charged with the murder yet and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, the article said.

Police said that Elliot had been brought to a hospital on Sunday after his arrest to treat lacerations on his hand. While at the hospital he had a minor heart attack and remained admitted in the hospital. On Monday, he had another heart attack and passed away.

Police arrested Elliot on Sunday after responding to a 911 call from a Georgetown home on the 3300 block of Q Street. Police found Elliot's father Le Roi Elliot, 88, dead and his mother Vaughan Elliot, 81, in critical condition, police said.

Police told The Washington Post that "Bradford Elliott answered the front door with blood-soaked hands."

Police are still investigating the homicide, an MPD news release said.
