Laptop Stolen from Georgetown Salon Twice in 8 Months
The Fourth Lock Salon's business records were on the laptop.
The Fourth Lock hair salon on the C&O Canal had its business computer stolen for the second time in eight months, according to the salon owner.
Unlike the first time when a good samaritan chased down the thief and retrieved the laptop, the thieves are still at large and the computer is still missing.
Salon owner Arlette Coppock's husband, Robb, provided Patch with the details on the most recent incident:
"About 4:30 Wednesday afternoon a laptop was stolen for the second time from The Fourth Lock hair salon on the C&O Canal Towpath. The salon was empty for about 15 minutes during which security video shows two young men standing calmly in front of the door while several pedestrians passed, then smoothly forcing the locked door and entering the salon. Seconds later they emerged carrying the laptop. Metropolitan Police are investigating the crime."
The $1,800 laptop was a Christmas gift and contained Coppock's entire business, including records and a client list.
