Update: Man Killed, Woman Injured in Georgetown Stabbing

Police identified the victims and suspect.

Police identified an 88-year-old man found dead in Georgetown early Sunday morning as Le Roi Elliot.

Elliot and his wife, 81-year-old Vaughan Elliot, were stabbed in a house at the 3300 block of Q Street, NW, according to police. Vaughan Elliot was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police were called to the scene at about 6:00 a.m., police said.

Inside the house, they found both victims stabbed and took a man into custody.

"It's believed to be domestic in nature at this time," said Patrick Burke, assistant chief with the Metropolitan Police Department told NBC4. No other suspects were being sought, he told the station.

Police identified the suspect as 56-year-old Bradford Nelson Elliot. He was arrested and charged on suspicion of armed murder.

According to The Georgetowner, Bradford is the son of Le Roi and Vaughan, lived with the couple in their Q Street home and is mentally ill.

Police told The Washington Post that "Bradford Elliott answered the front door with blood-soaked hands."

The Georgetowner also reported that ANC Commissioner Ed Solomon said to Media at the crime scene that, "This is something that could happen anywhere, whether it’s a mental health issue or something else going on. We don’t know. Of course, we are very concerned for our community.”
