Man Unzips Pants in Front of Woman, Daughter Near Stoddert Elementary

Man fits description of prior Glover Park indecent exposure suspect.

A man  fitting the description of an indecent exposure suspect unzipped his pants in front of a woman and her young daughter near Stoddert Elementary early Monday morning.

A Stoddert parent witnessed the incident and called police.

She also notified the Stoddert PTA among other parents' groups:

"A man who fit the description of the person who exposes himself across Stoddert said hello to me and [my daughter]. He stopped behind a small tree on the corner of Calvert and 40th St. and unzipped himself. [My daughter] and I ran into the school to call 911."

The woman told Patch that the man fits the description of a man who was exposing himself near the Glover Park school last fall.

At that time Patch reported that the suspect was a "Caucasian male around late 50s to early 60s, about 5-foot-8, medium build, light (possibly grey) eyes and grey hair with bangs."

On Monday, the man left the scene before police arrived, but she later saw the him again in the area around 8:20 a.m.

In the same message to the PTA, she wrote:

"On my drive to work via Calvert right onto Wisconsin, I see him walking up Wisconsin toward Calvert. I called 911 again and they stopped him on Calvert near Tunlaw. Since I was not on the scene, they had to let him go but took his information."

The witness told Patch the man was wearing a green polo shirt with black stripes and blue khakis. She said he was clean shaven with "nicely combed hair."

Second District Police have assured the complainant that they will address her concerns. In similar cases previously, officers have urged community members to call 911 immediately if they see something suspicious or someone fitting the description of the suspect.

Patch will provide updates as more information becomes available.
