Phone Threat of Sniper at British International School Unfounded

Police responded to a call of a possible sniper at the British International School.

At 4:08 pm, police responded to a telephone threat of a possible sniper in the area of the British International School. Second District Police responded to the threat and set up a command station at the site.

"There were at least 15 officers on the scene," a Georgetown resident at the scene reported through an email. "I got close and one of them gave me that look that says 'don't even think about asking me what's going on here.' Then a helicopter flew overhead."

At approximately 6:00 pm, police left the scene, having determined that the threat was unfounded, according to MPD Officer Carew.
