Police Ask for Help After Pedestrian Robbed on Volta Place

Woman robbed Wednesday night.

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for help following the Wednesday robbery of a woman walking in the 3300 block of Volta Place NW. 

Police provided this account:

On Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at approximately 10:40pm, a lone female victim was walking westbound in the 3300 block of Volta Place, NW. At this moment she was approached from behind by a male subject who placed an object onto her lower back declaring it was a gun.

He then ordered the victim to not turn around and relinquish her property by placing it into the plastic bag she was carrying. The victim complied placing several items of property into the bag.

The perpetrator seized the bag and ordered the victim to not turn around while he walked away heading east on Volta Place. The perpetrator was described as being being a male 5’8” to 6’0” feet in height. The victim reported the subject could possibly be of Hispanic descent due to an accent she detected when he spoke.
