Police Investigating Armed Robbery at Burleith Group Home

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning on the 3500 block of S Street.

A group house on the 3500 block of S Street was robbed by armed men Saturday morning just after 1 a.m., according to the Metropolitan Police and the Georgetown University Department of Public Safety. Two victims were beaten and tied up by the suspects while a third victim was held at gunpoint and forced to search the home for drugs and money for the suspects. The victims live in a group home comprised of both students and non-students.

According to the initial police summary, the victim answered a knock at the door at which point three suspects (one armed with a handgun) forced their way into the home.  GU Public Safety reported that the three men were "looking for a non-student who was not in the residence."

Initial reports indicate several laptops and other electronic devices were stolen. Police believe the incident was not random.
