Police Investigating Kidnapping in Georgetown

Road closures jammed traffic in and around Georgetown as police investigated Thursday.

Traffic was backed up in Georgetown Thursday morning as police investigated a reported kidnapping in the 1500 block of Foxhall Road, according to police. WAMU was the first to report the investigation.  

A woman called the Metropolitan Police Department at about 7:10 a.m. Thursday morning reporting that she had been abducted, according to Metropolitan Police Department Spokesman Araz Alali.

She told police that she met the suspect in Baltimore. Alali said the "elements of the crime" took place in DC. Alali could not say whether or not the woman was from Baltimore. 

According to post on the Palisades listserv, Police stopped a neighbor to ask if the suspect had been seen in the area. The man in question was described as wearing a "black suit, peach colored shirt, and no shoes." Police ask anyone with information to call 911.

Thursday, Police closed Foxhall Road through MacArthur Blvd. NW and from MacArthur Blvd to Q St NW, according to an MPD Twitter account.
