Police Investigating White Powder Found at Georgetown

Tests negative for ricin but more tests being conducted.

DC police are investigating how a white powder, initially believed to be ricin, made its was into a dormitory at Georgetown University.

Officer Araz Alali, a DC police spokesman, told The Washington Post preliminary tests on the powder were negative for ricin, but more tests are being conducted.

The powder was found at McCarthy Hall, in the 3700 block of O Street NW, the Post reported.

Police are interviewing someone about the powder, the Post reported, but authorities would not describe the person as a suspect and would not say whether it was a student.
