Police Seek Person of Interest in Georgetown Sexual Assault

Police are seeking public assistance in locating and identifying a person of interest in a sexual assault the took place around 10:30 p.m. June 30 on the 2400 block of M Street in the West End, just east of Georgetown.

In the weekend crime report summary on the Second District listserv there was a sexual assault reported in the 2400 block of M Street and the location was listed as "Hotel/Motel/Etc."

The is in the 2300 block of M Street and the Fairmont Washington is in the 2400 block of M Street. No one at either hotel could be reached for comment Monday.

Police issued a press release July 4 in which they provided both a description and picture of the person of interest:

"The person of interest is described as a black male, approximately 41 years old, bald, medium complexion, 5-foot-9, and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt with the words 'Fight Club', tan shorts, and sandals. He may go by the first name of 'Jason.'"

The man in the picture appears to be sitting at the Georgetown waterfront, easily identified by the large blue umbrellas in the outside seating area.
