Second Indecent Exposure Reported in East Georgetown

A man exposed himself to a woman Thursday evening, according to police.

A man exposed himself to a woman on the 1200 block of 27th Street NW, near Olive Street NW, Thursday evening, according to police. This is the second incident this month in that area of Georgetown.

Second District Lt. John Hedgecock emailed the police list serv about the Thursday incident.

"On Thursday, February 28, 2013, at approximately 7:45 pm, a female victim reported to the Metropolitan Police Department that while she was walking north in the 1200 block of 27th Street, NW, an unknown male subject was standing in the darkness in between the houses. As she passed, the subject called to her and upon turning she observed the male fully exposed masturbating."

The 1200 block of 27th is next to Rose Park and Rock Creek Park. The previous incident on Feb. 9 took place near the P Street bridge over Rock Creek Parkway around 5 p.m.

Hedgecock reports that the man involved in Thursday's incident has a "similar suspect description" to the earlier incident.

The suspect from Thursday's incident is described as a "white male of medium build and height, approximately 50 years old, with gray hair," according to Hedgecock's report.  

At the time of the incident the man was wearing, "a blue or black winter type hat, red hooded sweatshirt, black or dark blue spandex pants, and white tennis shoes," according to Hedgecock's report. 

Police described the suspect in the Feb. 9 incident as a and was last seen wearing a blue jacket.

Police from both the Metropolitan Police Department and the Park Police will be paying close attention to the areas where these incidents have occurred and they ask the public to report any sort of suspicious behavior to 911.
