Singer Chris Brown's Trial About Ready To Start

Verdict will clear way for Brown's trial.

A judge in Washington is expected give her verdict soon in the trial of a bodyguard for singer Chris Brown, and his trial could start today, Friday.

Brown's trial could start as soon as Friday afternoon, after the judge finishes the trial of bodyguard Christopher Hollosy, The Associated Press reports.

Both men were charged with assault after a Maryland man says they punched him outside a Washington hotel in October. Hollosy's trial began Thursday.

Hollosy told police he punched the man after the man tried to get on Brown's tour bus. The man said Brown and later Hollosy punched him after he tried to get in a photo Brown was taking with two women.

Court papers say the man's nose was fractured. Brown has denied hitting the man.

The headline-making celebrity is reportedly in a Hagerstown, Md. jail awaiting trial, WUSA-9 reports. (Another news outlet states he's being held at the "Northern Neck Regional Jail" in Virginia.)

There have also been conflicting reports of how Brown was returned to DC with some reports saying he was flown while others say he was on a five-day bus trip from Los Angeles.
