Thieves Make Off with Children's Toys, Games in Rose Park

The Rose Park Recreation Center was burglarized last Wednesday or Thursday.

Someone broke into the Rose Park Recreation Center sometime between last Wednesday evening and Thursday morning and stole a DVD player, assorted DVDs, craft kits and games, according to a police report and information from the Friends of Rose Park.

The items are used by children in the DC Department of Parks and Recreation “Little Explorers” summer program.

The Friends of Rose Park has organized a collection to re-stock the center with game appropriate for 3 to 5-year-olds.

David Abrams of Friends of Rose Park explained in an email what was needed:

"Please make sure the game has all of its pieces and that the toy or book is clean and not marked up.  (And please, no really big stuff like tricycles or scooters.)"

You may drop of items at the recreation center in Rose Park Monday from 9 a.m. until noon. Thereafter contact Abrams at jake.chase@juno.com to see if items are still needed.
