Two men were shot near the National Zoo on Monday, according to media reports, including WTOP.
The shootings reportedly occurred just after 5:15 p.m., in the 3000 block of Connecticut Avenue NW. The injuries weren't life threatening, according to WTOP.
WTOP's Director of Traffic and Transit Operations, Jim Battagliese, was at the zoo and told the radio station, "D.C. police immediately started pushing people back into the zoo...it was complete chaos here."

The Washington Post notes the shootings, at an address across from one of the main zoo entrances, are unusual for this area of the city.

A zoo spokesperson told the Post that there had been no reports of problems at the zoo.
The Post reports that police were looking for two teenagers who may have been involved in the shootings.
