50 Years Later: Memories of John F. Kennedy's Georgetown Presence

Friday marks the 50th Anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's Assassination, and while the president's story has captured the interest of people for generations, pieces of his life have always been in plain view for Georgetown residents. 

If you have to miss out on today's memorial events, you can take a stroll around town to nine of the 35th president's family residences, grab a bite in the restaurant where JFK proposed to Jackie, shop on Wisconsin Ave and attend a mass at JFK's church.

The Georgetown website lists a walking tour of all the homes in the neighborhood where the kennedy's once lived. The website advises that the tour will take about two hours and warns onlookers to stay on the sidewalk as the homes are currently private residences. Here are the addresses:

1400 34th St. NW: JFK and his sister, Eunice, lived here before they met their spouses-to-be. 
3260 N St. NW: JFK lived here, and met jackie nearby, during his senate campaign.
3271 P St. NW: JFK's wedding to Jackie was planned in this home.
1528 31st St. NW: As a senator, JFK pondered a presidential run here.
3321 Dent Pl. NW: Newlyweds JFK and Jackie lived here in 1954 before leaving due to medical reasons.
2808 P St. NW: JFK lived here shortly before launching his presidential campaign.
3307 N St. NW: - JFK and Jackie called this home during the 1960 presidential campaign.
3038 N St. NW: - Jackie lived in this 14-room mansion after JFK was killed. 
3017 N St. NW: - Jackie and family stayed in Georgetown after JFK's assassination, but had to leave shortly for security reasons.
