Alleged Green Paint Vandal Sent to Psychiatric Facility

Jiamei Tian faces felony charges for destruction of property over $1000.

Jiamei Tian, the woman who allegedly splattered paint to vandalize the Washington National Cathedral in July, did not appear in court as scheduled Thursday because she was sent to a psychiatric facility Wednesday, WUSA9 reports

Earlier in August, a judge found probable cause in the case against Tian and  she was released into a halfway house until her next court date, according to court records.

Tian is believed to have not only splashed green paint on an organ and other areas of the cathedral, but also at the Lincoln Memorial, a statue near the Smithsonian and a church.
