Arlington Memorial Bridge Repairs Slated Through November

Construction will take place in east and westbound lanes.

Repairs to the Arlington Memorial Bridge began Monday and will continue through November, according to the National Park Servce (NPS).

During construction there will be temporary east and westbound lane closures that are expected to cause traffic delays.

According to the NPS alert about the bridge repair project:

"Work will include repairing the concrete bridge deck, resetting granite curb, replacing sections of the sidewalk (on both sides of the bridge), and repairs to the bascule span. There will be pedestrian access at all times. Construction crews will work differing schedules in both eastbound and westbound directions. During this construction period eastbound lane closures will occur Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Westbound lane closures will occur Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Weekend lane closures will occur Friday 7:00.p.m. to Monday 5:00 a.m. Motorists can expect two lane closures both east and westbound to accommodate weekend road work. A minimum of one lane will remain open in both the eastbound and westbound lanes at all times."
