Canal Road Closures This Week
Drivers will have to find alternate routes during off-peak hours when Canal road is closed this week.
The District Department of Transportation’s Urban Forestry Administration and the National Park Service will be performing routine road maintenance on Canal Road NW this week.
Between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, Wednesday, March 27 and Thursday, March 28, Canal Road NW will be closed between Arizona Avenue and Foxhall Road.
Signs and traffic control measures in place will help drivers navigate around the changes.

Additionally, due to an unrelated project, Canal Road NW will be closed between Arizona Avenue and Clara Barton Parkway NW from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. NPS is repairing the Arizona Avenue Bridge. No information was immediately available on the length of this project.
