Wellness and Safety Fair

The Georgetown “Social” Safeway (1855 Wisconsin Avenue, NW) is teaming up with the District of Columbia’s Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services for a Community Wellness and Safety Fair, on Saturday, Jan. 28, beginning at 10 a.m., and featuring a brief program with Kenneth Ellerbe, District Fire and EMS Chief; Greg TenEyck, Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations for Safeway’s Eastern Division, along with other Safeway officials; and City officials, to be named, at 11 am.

The program throughout the day will include a wide array of activities for all ages, including:

  • Child Seat Safety Inspections and Installations
  • Stop, Drop and Roll Demonstration (always a hit with children, but beneficial too)
  • CPR and AED Demonstrations
  • Blood Pressure and Glucose Screenings
  • Fire Extinguisher Simulation (lots of us have them, but how many know how to use them?)
  • Smoke Alarm Registration
