Final O Street Paver Stones Set

The O and P Street Project is close to being totally completed.

On Friday, crews working from either end of O Street met one another in the middle of the 3200 block, where they set in place what could be the very last paver stones of the O and P Street project.

"The crew that has been working for well over a year completely restoring and repaving the cobblestone streets of O and P are almost finished laying down the paver stones, meeting each other like the crews building the Trans-Pacific Railroad," wrote Ben Mast, an O Street resident, in an email to Patch.

The week prior, a group of neighbors held an unofficial ceremony on P Street to mark the near-end of the project. They for his role in bringing the project to fruition.

An official closing ceremony will be tentatively scheduled for September when the finishing touches are in place.

But for the residents of O Street, Friday's meeting of contractors marked the end of a two-year journey.
