Georgetown Post Office Garners Old Georgetown Board Design Approval

The proposed office building will connect to the 1920s Post Office addition, which will be renovated to meet the needs of a modern office tenant. One story of the new structure will be below-grade and will extend to the property line on the south and east side of the lot just north of M Street.

Project architect, Guy Martin of CORE Architects, . But subsequent meetings with the Office of Planning forced the designer and his client to rethink the plan and . Then, just recently another reversal came when the 1920s structure was declared significant, compelling government agencies and the architect to again switch from a residential building to a commercial structure.
