Gray Adjusts Salaries of Eight Executive Staff Members

Gray reduces salaries on eight staff members who were being paid more than the legal limit.

Mayor Vincent Gray announced Friday that he reduced the salaries of eight executive staff members to reflect the legal limits in Council approved personnel pay schedules. The move follows a draft report released last week that questioned the Mayor's decision to pay several executive staff members more than the legal cap for salary.

According to the release from Gray's office, the eight employees received notice March 14. In some cases the reduction was as little as $904 for the year. The greatest reduction was $5,904 from two of the eight employees.

The move comes after a week where Gray's over concerns of her personnel management and the high salaries being paid to executive staff.
