Is DDOT Still a Transportation Policy Leader?
Georgetown resident calls for an end to the brain drain at the District Department of Transportation.
The District Department of Transportation is loosing another key official as Scott Kubly, who is in charge of Street Cars, Bikeshare and the Circulator, announced his departure from the agency where he has worked since 2009.
Georgetown resident, Ken Archer, opined in a post on Greater Greater Washington today that DDOT Director Bellamy and Mayor Vincent Gray have to step up to reduce any additional brain drain from the agency.
"They should give personal assurances that they are still committed to a vision for transportation that transcends politics," wrote Archer.

Archer notes that Kulby and other key leaders from Gabe Klein's DDOT who have left are not the only dedicated government employees at the agency.
However the departures force concerned residents to question the agency and the District's status among state transportation agencies.

He asks, "do talented transportation executives no longer view DDOT as a good place to shape the future of urban transportation in America?"
