Jack Evans Joins the Mayoral Race

Evans declared his candidacy in front of Le Diplomate on 14th Street NW.

Jack Evans is the latest entrant into the 2014 mayoral race, after he declared his candidacy Saturday on 14th Street NW in front of Le Diplomate.

Evans joins Councilwoman Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4) and Councilman Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) to bring the total candidate count to three; Mayor Vincent Gray has not announced if he plans to run for re-election.

This is the city I want to lead in the future,” Evans said during a press conference according to the Washington Post. “A city that the world looks to, not just because it’s our nation’s capital but because it’s the capital of urban renewal, of revitalization and of a new way forward.”
